More Than a Coloring Book. A Movement Toward Understanding, Representation, and Inclusion.

Every child deserves to feel seen, heard, understood, and celebrated.

I Have a Disability, Stop Staring So Hard! is an educational coloring book created by Erika Barnes, MSW, CHW, to promote disability awareness, challenge stereotypes, and encourage meaningful conversations about disabilities, chronic illnesses, developmental differences, and medical conditions.

With a special focus on representing Black children, this book introduces readers to diverse abilities and experiences through engaging illustrations, educational information, and activities that encourage empathy, kindness, and acceptance.

Designed for children, families, caregivers, educators, and healthcare professionals, this resource goes beyond coloring. It helps children understand that being different does not mean being less capable, less valuable, or less deserving of friendship, opportunity, and respect.

Sponsor a Child — Just $30!

We believe access to inclusive educational resources should never depend on a family's financial circumstances.

Through our Sponsor a Child Initiative, individuals, businesses, and community organizations can sponsor copies of the book for children and families.

For just $30, you can sponsor one child's book.

Whether you sponsor one child, an entire classroom, or a community program, your contribution helps us bring disability awareness, education, and representation to more children.
